Quilter’s Corner

Summer has been a very productive time in making mission quilts. We are definitely dwindling down the supply of tops for the quilts. The basket of blocks for making quilts located across from the office door has been resupplied. Please consider taking one or more home and assembling a top. Do take note of the attached grid as the blocks are not square and will require the correct layout to make a 60×80 top. Some have asked why we are so fussy about the size. LWR asks for this size to have uniformity when distributing them to areas of need. For this reason, all of the batting and backs are cut to conform to this size. When a top is made of a different measurement, we need to take it apart and resize it. All blocks have been cut to allow a 1/2 inch seam so please, double check the grid when laying out the odd size blocks. Block sizes are determined by the size of fabric scraps donated to get the most we can from them. Thanks for your help as always in assembling the tops.
Please come and join in the fun of quilting.  The October quilting days at Calvary are Mondays, October 9th and 23rd starting at 9 AM until about 2:00 PM.
Mission quilting: “Tied in faith, sent in hope, wrapped in love.”
